Former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Professor Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, has said his record in public service will remain his strongest campaign message as political activities intensify ahead of the Gombe State governorship race.
Pantami made the remark during a recent engagement in Gombe State, where he addressed supporters and stakeholders discussing governance, leadership, and development priorities.
According to him, political office seekers must rely on measurable achievements rather than rhetoric, insisting that his years in public service provide a clear scorecard for Nigerians to assess.
He stated that his tenure in key national roles, including his time as Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, reflects tangible progress in digital transformation, youth empowerment, and public sector innovation.
Pantami emphasized that leadership should be judged by results, adding that he is confident in the legacy he has built across various positions in government.
“I am not going to the people with empty promises, but with a scorecard. My record will speak for me,” he was quoted as saying.
His comments come amid growing political activity surrounding the 2027 gubernatorial race in Gombe State, where he is widely seen as one of the leading contenders.
Reports indicate that Pantami’s grassroots support base has continued to expand, with increasing political mobilization across different parts of the state, further fueling speculation about his ambition.
While he has not officially declared his candidacy, analysts say his recent public engagements and political visibility suggest a strategic positioning within the ruling party structure ahead of the contest.
Pantami has consistently maintained that governance should be driven by accountability, performance, and verifiable impact—principles he says define his public service record.
As the race gradually takes shape, attention in Gombe remains fixed on key political figures expected to contest the governorship seat in 2027, with Pantami’s name featuring prominently in early discussions.
