NITT Converts Zamfara Buses to Cargo Vehicles

The Nigerian Institute of Transport Technology (NITT), Zaria, has partnered with the Zamfara State Transport Express Company to convert passenger buses into cargo vehicles to strengthen logistics and transportation efficiency.

According to the Institute, 10 buses are currently undergoing refurbishment at the institutes Painting Booth.

So far, 4 buses have been successfully converted into cargo carriers, while work continues on the remaining 6.

The converted vehicles are designed to support cargo movement, offering a practical alternative to underutilised passenger buses.

The initiative is expected to enhance the transportation of goods within Zamfara State and beyond.

By repurposing existing assets, the project also reflects a cost-effective approach to improving logistics infrastructure.

NITT confirmed that the remaining buses are at various stages of completion, with full delivery expected upon project completion.
