The Special Adviser to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Media and Policy Communication, Daniel Bwala, has defended his appearance on Head to Head following strong reactions across social media.
In a statement issued on Saturday, Bwala said defending the administration publicly is part of his responsibility as a presidential spokesperson.
Bwala said he accepted the position knowing it would require him to face tough interviews and difficult questions.

According to him, avoiding media scrutiny would contradict the responsibilities attached to his appointment.
However, Bwala noted that the programme did not inform him beforehand that questions would focus on statements he made in the past.
Despite this concern, he said he remained willing to participate in the discussion and address the issues raised during the interview.
Bwala also addressed comments he previously made about President Tinubu when he was part of the political opposition.
He said such disagreements are common in democratic politics and do not prevent people from later working together in government.
Meanwhile, he thanked Nigerians and international observers who commended his performance during the interview.
