NEMA Receives 165 Nigerian Migrants Returning from Sudan

The National Emergency Management Agency has received 165 Nigerian migrants returning from Sudan.

The returnees arrived at the Malam Aminu Kano International Airport on Monday, March 2, 2026.

They were transported on a flight operated by Tarco Aviation.

Officials said the aircraft landed at approximately 1:40 p.m. local time.

Upon arrival, officers of the Nigeria Immigration Service conducted documentation and clearance procedures.

The migrants were later moved to a designated facility for profiling and support services.

The exercise was coordinated by NEMA in collaboration with several agencies.

These include the National Commission for Refugees Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons, the Nigeria Red Cross Society, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, and state emergency management agencies.

Officials said the profiling process was completed on March 3.

Demographics of Returnees

According to the agencies involved, the group consisted of:

  • 33 adult males
  • 49 adult females
  • 30 male children
  • 53 female children

Authorities said the reception, documentation, and profiling were carried out in an orderly and incident-free manner.

The operation reflects the Federal Government’s commitment to the safe return and reintegration of Nigerians abroad.
