Shettima Assures Support for Families of Kebbi Slain Officers

Kashim Shettima has assured families of security personnel killed in a recent attack in Kebbi State of continued federal government support.

He delivered the message on behalf of Bola Ahmed Tinubu during a condolence visit to the state.

The Vice President led a federal delegation to Birnin Kebbi.

He met with Governor Nasir Idris following the killings in Shanga Local Government Area.

He also commiserated over the death of the Speaker of the Kebbi State House of Assembly, Muhammad Usman Zuru.

Shettima said the government will not allow the sacrifices of security personnel to be in vain.

He emphasised that the welfare of military and police families remains a top priority.

Furthermore, he disclosed that the President has directed the National Emergency Management Agency to provide relief materials.

The intervention will support both affected families and displaced communities.

The Vice President reaffirmed the administration’s resolve to strengthen security efforts.

He prayed for the victims and urged unity in addressing security challenges.

Governor Idris said security agencies are working closely with the state government.

He noted improvements in response and coordination despite recent challenges.

He also revealed that the state donated ₦60 million to families of the slain officers.

In addition, displaced communities have been resettled.

Authorities said new measures are in place to prevent further attacks.

The Emir of Zuru, Sanusi Mikailu Sami, called for peaceful coexistence across the state and the country.
