U.S. Congresswoman Ilhan Omar has renewed her call to abolish the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), insisting that the United States must adopt an immigration system rooted in justice, dignity, and the rule of law.

“Abolish ICE. We need an immigration system that is lawful, humane, and treats people with the justice and dignity they deserve,” Omar stated, reiterating her long-standing position on immigration reform.

The Minnesota lawmaker argued that current enforcement mechanisms have contributed to fear within immigrant communities and have often undermined humanitarian protections. She emphasized the need for policies that balance border management with respect for human rights and due process.

Omar’s comments add to the broader national debate in the United States over immigration enforcement, asylum procedures, and pathways to citizenship. While progressive lawmakers and advocacy groups support restructuring or dismantling ICE, critics argue that the agency plays a vital role in enforcing federal immigration laws and maintaining national security.

The issue remains one of the most divisive topics in American politics, with calls for reform continuing to shape legislative discussions ahead of upcoming policy negotiations.
