The representative of the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA,HADIZA KAZIR, spoke about the agency’s work on weather information.
The representative said NEMA is working with other stakeholders to ensure that weather forecasts reach people across the country.
The agency also works with State Emergency Management Agencies, SEMA, to improve emergency communication.
The aim is to ensure that people receive important information before disasters occur.
Participants stressed that this information must also be accessible to persons with disabilities.
A representative of the Ministry of Environment MURTALA ABDALLAH YABO also attended the session.
The representative explained the ministry’s efforts to include persons with disabilities in its policies.
The ministry said their needs should be considered when developing environmental and climate policies.
