The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has condemned the ongoing prosecution of former Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, and former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), describing it as politically motivated and selective.
Hajiya Hassana Shuaibu Dada, the ADC Assistant National Youth Leader (North Central), made the remarks while reacting to the anti-graft agency’s legal actions against the two prominent political figures.
She alleged that the prosecutions were part of a broader attempt to intimidate opposition voices and weaken political dissent ahead of future elections.
According to her, the ADC remains undeterred by what she called harassment and intimidation, insisting that the party and its members would continue to exercise their democratic rights without fear.

Dada further criticised what she described as selective justice, arguing that anti-corruption efforts must be fair, transparent, and free from political interference to maintain public trust.
She urged relevant authorities to ensure that the rule of law is upheld and that anti-graft agencies operate independently, without being used as tools against political opponents.
The EFCC has not officially responded to the ADC’s claims as of the time of filing this report.
The development adds a new twist to Nigeria’s evolving political landscape, as tensions continue to rise between opposition parties and federal authorities over allegations of politically influenced investigations.
