Sixteen-year-old autistic artist and Guinness World Record holder Kanyeyachukwu Tagbo-Okeke has begun a nationwide cycling expedition aimed at securing a second Guinness World Record while promoting autism awareness and inclusion.
The initiative, tagged #RideWithKanye, is a collaboration involving the Kanyechukwu Autism Society Foundation, the Lagos State Government, and the National Sports Commission. It was officially launched at the weekend with top government officials and stakeholders in attendance.
The cycling challenge will start in Enugu and end in Lagos on April 2, 2026, to coincide with World Autism Awareness Day. The route will pass through Anambra, Delta, Ogun, and Lagos states, with awareness and community engagement events scheduled in each location.
Lagos State Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Mobolaji Ogunlende, pledged the state’s support, describing the initiative as a blend of sport, advocacy, and social inclusion aligned with the THEMES Plus agenda.
Kanyeyachukwu, who previously set a Guinness World Record for creating the world’s largest individual art canvas, said the cycling feat is aimed at deepening public understanding and acceptance of people living with autism.
Organisers said the campaign also seeks to raise funds to train 1,000 caregivers nationwide to better support autistic children and adolescents.
The final event in Lagos will be held in partnership with Spark a Spectrum, a US-based autism advocacy group, with support from the Cycling Federation of Nigeria, Cyclology Cycling Club, and Koyo HealthTech.
