Our Leaders Need Prayers - Prof. Sani Umar

Professor Sani Umar Rijayar Lemu has stressed the importance of the first 10 days of Dhul Hijjah, urging Nigerians to use the sacred period to seek forgiveness from Allah and pray for the peace and progress of the country.

The Islamic scholar made the call during his weekly ta’alim session in Kano, where he reminded Muslims of the spiritual significance of Dhul Hijjah, the final month in the Islamic calendar.

According to him, the period remains one of the most blessed days in Islam, encouraging Muslims to increase acts of worship, prayers, charity and repentance.

Prof. Sani Umar also urged Nigerians to remember the nation’s leaders in their prayers, noting that the country needs divine guidance, peace and stability.

“Our leaders need prayers. Nigerians should use these blessed days to pray for the country and seek Allah’s intervention in our affairs,” he said.

He further encouraged Muslims to observe fasting on the Day of Arafat, which comes a day before Eid-el-Kabir, describing it as a highly rewarding act of worship for those not performing Hajj.

The cleric called on Muslims to take advantage of the spiritual benefits attached to the period by strengthening their relationship with Allah and promoting unity and peace in society.
