Internal Crisis : NMA Dismisses Claims, Confirms Election Date

The Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) while re-affriming the stability and functionality of the association has dismissed claims of an internal crisis.

Leaders of the association rejected reports of division, stated that the claims do not reflect the true situation within the body, but instead, explained that the NMA continues to operate smoothly across all branches.

Meanwhile, the association has confirmed plans for a leadership election in May. It said the election will follow its constitutional schedule. In addition, officials noted that preparations for the process are already in progress.

The NMA also assured members that it will conduct the election in a transparent manner. Furthermore, it described the exercise as a routine democratic process that strengthens its leadership structure.

In the same vein, the association emphasized that its professional activities will continue without disruption. Doctors across the country will still provide medical services and engage in ongoing advocacy work.

Moreover, the NMA urged members to ignore misinformation about internal disagreements. It called on stakeholders to remain focused on unity and healthcare development.
