Nigerian striker Kelechi Iheanacho has completed a free transfer to Turkish club Bursaspor, opening a new chapter in a career that has taken him across some of Europe’s top leagues.
The 29-year-old joins the Turkish side after becoming a free agent as Bursaspor unveils the Super Eagles forward ahead of the new season.
Iheanacho began his European career with Manchester City but enjoyed his most successful spell at Leicester City, where he won the FA Cup and the Community Shield.
He also played for Sevilla, Middlesbrough, and most recently Celtic where he has gained valuable top-level experience.
Signing a player of Iheanacho’s quality sends a strong message from Bursaspor. The former Turkish champions want experienced players who can help the club achieve its goals this season.
The move also gives Iheanacho a chance to revive his career as he has struggled for regular playing time during the past few seasons and now has an opportunity for a fresh start.
Iheanacho is know for his intelligent movement, technical ability, and clinical finishing and would be looking to rediscover the form that made him one of Nigeria’s most dependable forwards.
Both Iheanacho and Bursaspor will hope the partnership brings success as the striker now begins a fresh challenge in Turkish football with high expectations for the new season.
