Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu, Femi Gbajabiamila, has said he never betrayed the confidence President Tinubu reposed in him since his appointment.
Gbajabiamila made the clarification while speaking about his relationship with the President and his role within the administration.
He said his loyalty to Tinubu has remained firm, stressing that he has always acted in the interest of the President and the administration.
The Chief of Staff’s comments come amid discussions surrounding his role in the administration and some political developments involving members of the ruling All Progressives Congress.
Gbajabiamila has previously spoken about situations in which his position was reportedly at risk because of political developments. In May 2026, he disclosed that he almost lost his job during the crisis surrounding the removal of former Lagos State House of Assembly Speaker Mudashiru Obasa.
According to him, President Tinubu had confronted him over allegations concerning his relationship with Lagos lawmaker Desmond Elliot and directed him to advise Elliot to distance himself from the crisis.
Gbajabiamila said he followed the President’s instruction and subsequently communicated with Elliot.
The former Speaker of the House of Representatives has remained one of the President’s closest political associates and currently serves as Chief of Staff at the Presidency.
His latest comments further highlight the importance of trust and loyalty in the relationship between the President and senior officials working within his administration.
