The Hajaj-Zoic Digital Market officially opened on July 25, 2026, in Sabon Gari, Kano State. The project marks a major step in Kano’s commercial and digital growth.
The market sits in one of Nigeria’s busiest trading centres. It is one of West Africa’s largest electrical and electronics markets. The facility houses more than 1,500 shops for traders, entrepreneurs, and technology businesses.
The developers built the market to improve trade and support business expansion. They expect it to generate more than ₦50 billion in revenue. The project will also create over 100,000 direct and indirect jobs.
Chief Executive Officer of Hajaj-Zoic Real Estate, Alhaji Jamilu Abdulsalam, said the company invested between ₦25 billion and ₦30 billion in the project. He revealed that Egyptian and Chinese companies have secured permanent showrooms in the market. He also said buyers have already purchased between 60 and 65 percent of the available shops.
Abdulsalam added that the market provides parking for more than 700 vehicles. It also includes storage space for over 30 forty-foot containers. The developers installed firefighting trucks and automatic sprinklers to improve safety.
The representative of the Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, Alhaji Kabir Aminu, praised the project during the commissioning. He said the Federal Government has removed many public-private partnership bottlenecks to attract more private investment. He described the Hajaj-Zoic Digital Market as a landmark project that will advance digital commerce in Nigeria.
