Katsina State Governor, Dikko Umaru Radda, has paid a visit to Mrs. Amina Rabe Abubakar, wife of the late Major General Rabe Abubakar, following her rescue from kidnappers by troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA.

Mrs. Abubakar is currently receiving medical attention at the Federal Teaching Hospital, Katsina, where she is being monitored and treated after the ordeal. The governor was accompanied on the visit by the Director General of Media Affairs, Maiwada Dammallam, to assess her condition and offer government support.

Security sources confirmed that Mrs. Abubakar was rescued after troops engaged her abductors in a coordinated operation marked by a fierce exchange with the kidnappers. The intervention led to her safe recovery and underscored ongoing military efforts to curb banditry and kidnapping across the North-West.

Major General Rabe Abubakar(rtd), her husband, was a senior Nigerian Army officer who became a prominent figure in national security and defence administration serving as a spokesperson for the army from 2015 to 2017. He and his wife were kidnapped on May 30 by armed bandits operating within the North-West region.

He later died while in captivity, a development that drew national attention and highlighted the deepening security challenges in the region.

During his visit, Governor Radda commended the troops for their professionalism, courage, and swift response during the rescue operation. He said the success of the mission further reinforces public confidence in ongoing security operations and the collaboration between government and security agencies in restoring peace to Katsina State and the wider region.

He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening security partnerships and supporting frontline operatives in the fight against banditry, kidnapping, and other violent crimes threatening communities across the state.

The governor added that the rescue operation represents another significant breakthrough for Operation FANSAN YAMMA, reflecting the continued determination of security forces to protect lives and restore stability in affected areas.
