INEC Reviews Readiness for Anambra Governorship Election

The Acting Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Mrs. May Agbamuche-Mbu, on Thursday presided over the Commission’s weekly meeting, with preparations for the forthcoming Anambra State Governorship Election topping the agenda.

The strategic session, held at the Commission’s headquarters in Abuja, reviewed ongoing operational, logistical, and security arrangements to ensure the conduct of a free, fair, and credible election in Anambra.

INEC also used the opportunity to commence forward planning for other scheduled polls, including the 2026 Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Area Council Elections and the Governorship Elections in Osun and Ekiti States.

The meeting forms part of the Commission’s broader effort to strengthen election management processes and maintain early preparedness for upcoming electoral activities across the country.
