The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has urged Ekiti voters yet to collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to use the seven-day window beginning Friday, October 9, 2026 to do so.
The Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC)in Ekiti State, Dr Bunmi Omoseyindemi, made the call during the official flag-off and stakeholders’ engagement on the display of the voters register and collection of PVCs in Ado Ekiti.
Represented by the Head of General Administration and Procurement, Alhaji Tiamiyu Arowolo, RECthe said the exercise would run from Friday, October 9, to Thursday, October 15.
The exercise will take place from 9am to 3pm daily at designated Registration Areas and local government headquarters across the state.
The REC urged Ekiti voters and other eligible residents to use the opportunity to verify their details and collect their PVCs where applicable.
The display of the Preliminary Register of Voters will allow citizens to check their names, photographs, biometric details and other personal information.
Voters can also submit claims to correct omissions, misspellings and other errors in the register.
Members of the public can raise objections against entries involving alleged underage persons, deceased individuals, non-citizens or cases of multiple registration. However, they must provide relevant evidence to support their claims.
INEC said the Preliminary Register of Voters would remain on display for seven days, giving voters enough time to examine their details and report any discrepancies.
Omoseyindemi said INEC had trained personnel who would handle the display of the register and PVC collection exercise across Ekiti State.
He charged the officials to maintain impartiality, transparency and integrity throughout the exercise.
The REC warned against negligence, absenteeism, political bias, favouritism, extortion and unauthorised alteration of electoral records.
He also assured Ekiti voters that the exercise would accommodate vulnerable groups, including elderly persons, pregnant women, nursing mothers and persons with disabilities.
INEC advised eligible voters who have not collected their PVCs to visit the designated centres during the exercise and complete the necessary process before the October 15 deadline.
