The Senate of the Confluence University of Science and Technology, Osara, Kogi State, has expelled one student and rusticated two others for one academic session over various acts of misconduct.
The university announced the decisions on Tuesday following its 33rd Regular Senate Meeting held on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, where the Senate considered reports submitted by the Students’ Disciplinary Committee.
Samuel Asipita David, a 300-level Electrical Engineering student in the Faculty of Engineering, received the expulsion after the committee found him culpable of taking part in a fight involving students and providing false information during his initial appearance before the committee.
The Senate approved David’s expulsion under Section 7.2, Subsection 33 of the Students’ Handbook, Second Edition, as amended in 2025.
In a separate case, the university also rusticated Abdullahi Zeinulabideen Ozovehe, a 200-level Common Law student, for one academic session after the committee found him culpable of tampering with a CCTV camera at the Faculty of Law.
The university said the rustication is relevant under the provisions of the Students’ Handbook and the Confluence University of Science and Technology, Osara Law, 2020.
The school authority also rusticated another 200-level Common Law student, Olumide Miracle Eniola, for one academic session after finding her culpable of an offence involving placing her legs on a male student’s lap.
The university said it followed due process in handling all three disciplinary cases, noting that the affected students appeared before the Students’ Disciplinary Committee for investigation before the committee submitted its reports to Senate for consideration.
CUSTECH also disclosed that its Senate based its decisions on the committee’s findings and the disciplinary provisions contained in the university’s Students’ Handbook and applicable law.
