Manchester United have confirmed that Marc Skinner has left his role as head coach of the club’s women’s team by mutual agreement.
His departure comes just one month before the start of the 2026/27 Women’s Super Lea’sgue season.
End of a Successful Spell
Skinner took charge of Manchester United Women in 2021 and helped guide the club to its first major trophy.
Under his leadership, United won the Women’s FA Cup in 2024, marking a historic achievement for the team.
In a statement, the club thanked Skinner for his contribution.
“Marc Skinner has departed his role as head coach of Manchester United Women by mutual agreement,” the statement read.
“Marc leaves having made a significant contribution to the continued progress of Manchester United Women.”
United Begin Search for New Coach
Manchester United finished fourth in the Women’s Super League last season.
The team ended the campaign 15 points behind champions Manchester City.
Attention will now turn to finding a new head coach before the new season begins.
United will kick off their 2026/27 Women’s Super League campaign against London City Lionesses on September 4.
