Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk can return to football after the Football Association ended its anti-doping case against him
The 25-year-old missed football since October 2024 after authorities found meldonium, a banned substance, in his sample.
The suspension kept the Ukrainian international out of action for almost two years and raised doubts about when he would return to the pitch
On July 30, 2026, the Football Association reached an agreement with Mudryk and the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) to resolve the case.
Mudryk accepted responsibility for the anti-doping rule violation, with the Football Association matching his sanction to the time he had already served.
That decision allows the Chelsea winger to return to competitive football immediately without serving any further suspension
Chelsea welcomed the outcome and said the club looks forward to having Mudryk back in the squad, promising to support him as he rebuilds his fitness after his lengthy absence.
Mudryk will travel with Chelsea for the club’s pre-season tour of Hong Kong this weekend. The trip gives him the chance to train with his teammates, impress the coaching staff and prepare for the new season
