Nigerian striker Tolu Arokodare is set to join Ajax from Wolverhampton Wanderers after both clubs reached an agreement over a loan deal.
Ajax will cover the striker’s full salary during his stay in Amsterdam with the Dutch club also paying Wolves a loan fee as part of the agreement.
The deal includes a €22 million buy option, but Ajax does not have to activate it. The club will decide whether to sign Arokodare permanently after the loan period.
Wolves could also earn extra payments from the transfer as the Premier League side included bonuses linked to Ajax’s qualification for European competitions.
Arokodare has become one of Nigeria’s most exciting forwards in European football. The 24-year-old striker impressed during his time at Belgian club Genk, where he developed a reputation as a strong goalscorer.
The Nigerian forward stands out because of his size, strength, and ability in the air. He uses his physical presence to challenge defenders and create chances for his team.
