Veteran Nigerian singer Innocent “2Baba” Idibia has finally addressed the viral romantic video showing him dancing affectionately with his ex-wife, Annie Idibia, putting to rest growing speculation that the former couple had rekindled their relationship.
The clip, which resurfaced on social media days after Annie made a public appearance, quickly went viral. Fans interpreted the warm interaction as a possible reconciliation, with many expressing excitement at the prospect of the former couple getting back together.
However, 2Baba has dismissed the rumours, insisting that the trending clip is an old video and should not be interpreted as evidence of a reunion. In a post shared on social media, the music icon simply wrote:
“Abeg na old video o.”
His brief response was aimed at shutting down speculation that he and Annie had reconciled after their widely publicised split.
Annie also moved swiftly to dispel the rumours. Through her representatives, the actress denied reports that she had reunited with her former husband, stressing that she remains focused on her personal growth and current chapter of life.
The speculation began after videos surfaced online showing the former couple dancing together in a nightclub. Their chemistry in the clips prompted thousands of reactions, with many social media users hoping love had found its way back to the pair.
The clarification comes more than a year after 2Baba publicly announced the end of his marriage to Annie. Since then, the singer has remained in the spotlight over his relationship with Edo State lawmaker Natasha Osawaru, while Annie has largely kept her focus on rebuilding her career and personal life.
