The organisers of Uromi-16 premiere have announced temporary postponement of the documentary  screenings due to security concerns.

In a statement issued on behalf of the producer, Sa’id Sa’ad Abubakar, the team confirmed that scheduled showings in Abuja, Kaduna, and Kano will no longer hold as planned.

According to the statement, the decision followed “credible security concerns” that made it necessary to reassess the environment for the film’s release.

The organisers stressed that the safety of viewers and all stakeholders remains the top priority.

Despite the postponement, the team clarified that the project has not been cancelled.

Uromi-16: The Story is described as a fact-based documentary focused on correcting misinformation and presenting the truth about a jungle justice incident. The film aims to promote understanding, accountability, and justice.

The organisers emphasised that the delay should not be seen as a withdrawal or abandonment of the project, but rather a responsible step to protect lives.

The production team reaffirmed its commitment to telling the truth, preserve the dignity of victims and pursue justice through lawful means

They also disclosed that discussions are ongoing with relevant authorities and stakeholders to address safety and accountability concerns.

Meanwhile, organisers announced that refunds for purchased tickets will begin immediately.

All payments will be processed within three weeks using the verified email addresses provided during ticket purchase.

The statement urged Nigerians to remain calm, patient, and law-abiding as efforts continue to ensure a safe release.

It added that updates on new screening dates or alternative release platforms will be communicated in due course.
