A former member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Zainab Buba Galadima, has defended her decision to leave the ruling party, insisting that her resignation is valid and well thought out.

Speaking as a guest on the S24 Insight programme, Galadima clarified that her exit was not a sudden move, but one she had carefully considered over several months.

According to her, the resignation letter had been in the works for about four to five months before she eventually made it public.

“This was not a broad daylight decision,” she said, emphasizing that her departure followed deep reflection and personal conviction.

Galadima also recounted her early involvement in the formation of the APC, noting that she contributed significantly to the party’s growth. However, she stated that over time, she became disillusioned, believing the party no longer had meaningful prospects to offer.

In an emotional revelation, she further alleged that her experiences within the party came at a personal cost, including the loss of two pregnancies.

She concluded by reaffirming that her resignation stands, describing it as a necessary step after years of dedication and sacrifice.

Her remarks have sparked reactions within political circles, as discussions continue over internal dynamics within the APC ahead of future elections.
