A truck loaded with sand crashed into the newly constructed gate of the Gombe State Government House, causing serious damage and raising safety concerns.
The crash happened earlier in the day when the heavy-duty truck reportedly lost control and rammed into the gate. Eyewitnesses said the impact destroyed parts of the structure and scattered debris across the entrance.
The driver suffered minor injuries, and rescue teams treated him quickly. No security personnel or passersby were hurt.
Authorities have not released an official cause of the crash. However, initial reports point to possible brake failure or loss of control.
Security operatives have cordoned off the area. Officials are now assessing the damage and planning repairs.
The incident has sparked fresh concerns among residents about road safety and the need for stricter checks on heavy-duty vehicles in urban areas.
