The Kano Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and Aviation Security have pledged stronger collaboration.

The agencies agreed to enhance intelligence sharing and operational coordination.

They aim to curb illicit financial flows and protect the electoral process.

The commitment followed a visit by the new AVSEC Chief at Malam Aminu Kano International Airport, Aliyu Yahuza Abdullahi.

He met with the Acting EFCC Zonal Director, Assistant Commander Friday S. Ebelo.

Abdullahi assured the EFCC of full operational support.

He stressed that intelligence sharing is critical to dismantling financial crime syndicates.

He urged the EFCC to provide advance notice before airport operations.

He said early notification allows efficient deployment of AVSEC resources.

Ebelo welcomed the pledge for deeper collaboration.

He called for vigilance over the movement of large cash through airports.

He warned that illicit funds could influence the electoral process.

He urged security agencies to intercept funds meant for unlawful purposes.

Ebelo said coordinated action will deter economic saboteurs.

He added that joint efforts will safeguard Nigeria’s democratic integrity.
