Islamic scholar, Dr. Bashir Aliyu Umar, has said that asking Nigerians for pardon should not be the focus of a president, but rather fulfilling the heavy responsibility of leadership.

He made this statement during his ongoing Ramadan Tafsir, where he spoke about leadership, accountability, and national unity.

According to him, the office of the president is not a place to seek pardon from citizens, but a position that requires total commitment and hard work in serving the people.

He explained that leadership is a serious responsibility entrusted to an individual, and that the president is expected to devote all his efforts to discharging his duties effectively for the benefit of the nation.

Dr. Bashir Aliyu Umar also called on Nigerians to support their leaders with prayers rather than just criticism.

He urged citizens to pray for lasting peace, unity, and progress in Nigeria.

He concluded his message by praying for peace and prosperity in the country, saying, “May God bless Nigeria and grant us long-lasting peace.”
