Troops of Operation HADIN KAI have intercepted a suspected terrorist logistics network in Borno State, arresting six suspects and recovering a large cache of materials believed to be intended for terrorist groups operating in the North East.
The operation was carried out by troops of Sector 1 Operation HADIN KAI at about 4:00 p.m. on July 19, 2026, following credible intelligence on suspected terrorist supply routes.
According to the military, troops mounted an intelligence-led stop-and-search operation along a suspected logistics corridor, leading to the arrest of six suspected terrorist logistics suppliers travelling in five vehicles.
The suspects were allegedly transporting a large consignment of materials believed to be destined for terrorist elements.
Items recovered during the operation include 202 cartons of herbicides, one jerrycan containing suspected acid, one Starlink wireless internet communication system, six bags of NPK fertiliser, 10 bags of rice, 50 hoes, and 20 packs of knapsack sprayer pumps.
The military said preliminary assessments indicate that the recovered items have potential dual-use applications capable of supporting terrorist logistics, communications, mobility, and sustainment.
It added that the recovered NPK fertiliser and suspected acid will undergo technical and forensic examination to determine whether they were intended for the production of Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs).
The six suspects and all recovered items have been handed over to the appropriate Military Intelligence Regiment for further investigation.
According to Operation HADIN KAI, investigators will work to identify the intended recipients of the materials, uncover the wider logistics network, and track down other collaborators and sponsors.
The military also revealed that preliminary debriefings of rescued hostages and surrendered terrorist family members indicate that sustained military operations targeting terrorist logistics have significantly weakened insurgent groups.
It said the disruption of food supplies, medical items, communications equipment, and other essential logistics has forced many terrorists to abandon their hostages, families, and enclaves while fleeing continued military pressure.
Operation HADIN KAI reaffirmed its commitment to dismantling terrorist logistics and support networks through intelligence-driven operations targeting terrorists, financiers, logistics suppliers, informants, and collaborators.
The military urged members of the public to continue supporting security agencies by providing timely and credible information on suspicious persons, movements, and activities, stressing that public cooperation remains critical to restoring lasting peace and security across the North East.
