President Bola Tinubu will depart Abuja on Saturday for a three-nation visit to France, Kenya, and Rwanda, aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s global partnerships and investment outlook.

The trip was announced by presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga, who outlined the President’s itinerary and key engagements.

According to him, President Tinubu will first visit France before heading to Nairobi, Kenya, for the Africa-France Summit scheduled for next week.

The summit, co-chaired by Emmanuel Macron and William Ruto, will focus on energy transition, green industrialisation, digital transformation, and climate action.

In addition, discussions will address global financing reforms and economic cooperation between African countries and France.

President Tinubu’s participation from May 11 to May 12 is expected to reinforce Nigeria’s commitment to strategic partnerships and sustainable development.

Kenya Summit Highlights

The summit, themed “Africa Forward: Africa-France Partnerships for Innovation and Growth,” will bring together African and French leaders to address key issues.

These include economic transformation, infrastructure development, youth empowerment, and technological advancement.

Meanwhile, the forum will also serve as a platform to promote peace-building initiatives across the continent.

Rwanda Engagement

After the Kenya summit, President Tinubu will travel to Kigali, Rwanda, to attend the Africa CEO Forum scheduled for May 14 to 15.

The forum, held in partnership with the International Finance Corporation, will gather over 2,000 business leaders, investors, and policymakers.

With the theme “Scale or Fail,” discussions will centre on regional integration, industrial growth, and cross-border investment.

Nigeria’s Positioning

At both summits, President Tinubu is expected to present Nigeria’s economic reforms and investment opportunities.

He will also hold high-level meetings with global and African business leaders to attract investment into key sectors of the economy.

Overall, the three-nation visit underscores Nigeria’s push to strengthen international cooperation and drive economic growth.

The President will be accompanied by ministers and senior aides and is expected to return to Nigeria after the Rwanda engagement.
