The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a 21-year-old man, Samson Onilewaji, during a stop-and-search operation along the Lekki-Epe Expressway.
The Police said officers stopped an unregistered commercial shuttle bus carrying six passengers during a routine check.
They searched the vehicle and its occupants, found a suspected human right hand in the possession of Onilewaji and also recovered two locally made pistols, one live cartridge, two axes, a POS terminal, and five ATM cards.
Police spokesperson Abimbola Adebisi said the suspect confessed to recent robberies involving three victims and allegedly linked the stolen POS terminal and ATM cards to those attacks.
Police also said they are investigating the origin of the suspected human hand while Investigators are also tracking possible accomplices linked to the case.
The Lagos State Police Command said the suspect will face court charges after investigations.
Commissioner of Police CP Tijani Olaiwola Fatai urged residents to stay alert and share useful information with security agencies.
The Lagos State Police Command said the arrest followed a routine stop-and-search operation aimed at reducing violent crime along major highways in the state.
