Prominent Islamic cleric and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Gombe State, Prof. Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, has said that the people of Gombe and Nigerians enjoyed greater prosperity and economic comfort during the years of PDP administration.
Pantami made the statement shortly after emerging as the PDP governorship candidate for the 2027 governorship election in Gombe State, where he pledged to restore what he described as a period of prosperity, unity, and inclusive governance for the people.
Speaking after his emergence, Pantami said the PDP remains committed to building a system where every citizen has equal opportunities and can benefit from governance, regardless of political affiliation or social background.
According to him, leadership should be focused on improving the welfare of the people and addressing the growing economic hardship currently affecting many families across the state and the country.
The former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy stated that Gombe recorded notable achievements under PDP administrations, including the establishment of state and federal universities, an airport, a stadium, an international hotel, colleges of education, and significant investments in human capital development.
He further claimed that available statistics show poverty levels were significantly lower during the PDP era compared to current realities.
Pantami assured party supporters and residents of Gombe State that if elected governor, his administration would prioritize policies aimed at economic growth, job creation, social development, and improved living conditions across the state.
He added that his vision is to build a more prosperous and united Gombe where governance works for all citizens.
