Gunmen Abduct University Students In Nasarawa

Gunmen abducted several students of the Faculty of Engineering, Gudi Campus of Nasarawa State University, Keffi after attacking a student lodge in Anguwar Ninzo, near Gudi town in Nasarawa State.

The attack happened around 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Police said six victims are engineering students, while another person visited one of the students during the attack.

The Nigeria Police Force said security agencies have started a joint rescue operation. The team includes the DSS, military, NSCDC, vigilante groups and tactical police units. Commissioner of Police Shetima Mohammed visited the scene and assured residents that officers are working to rescue the victims safely. Police also redeployed the Area Commander in Akwanga to strengthen security operations.

Security operatives are searching nearby forests and surrounding communities for the abductors and the missing students.

Police urged residents to stay calm and report useful information to security agencies. The incident has raised fresh concerns about student safety and insecurity in the area.
