As a result, he is now moving from government communication into frontline politics ahead of the 2027 elections.
Ajakaye is contesting for the Ifelodun/Offa/Oyun Federal Constituency seat under the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In addition, he announced his ambition through a public video message after consulting widely with political stakeholders across the constituency.
According to Ajakaye, he decided to run because he wants to improve representation for his people.
Also, he said he has engaged community leaders and party members before making his decision.
Therefore, he believes his candidacy reflects the will of many stakeholders in the area.
If elected, Ajakaye says he will work closely with state and federal leaders, focus on constituency development projects, provide stronger representation in the National Assembly and further said he’s ready to serve with responsibility and dedication.
Before now, Ajakaye served as the Chief Press Secretary to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, held this role since 2019 and continued after the governor’s re-election in 2023.
