Gunmen Abduct Adelabu’s Sister, Twin Children in Ibadan

Gunmen abducted the younger sister of former Minister of Power Adebayo Adelabu and her twin children in Ibadan. The incident occurred on Wednesday in the Challenge area of Ibadan South-West Local Government Area, Oyo State.

The victims reportedly came under attack while leaving their residence, according to Adelabu’s media aide, Femi Awogboro, the family was travelling from Elewura to connect to the expressway when armed men intercepted them and then whisked them away.

The abductors reportedly kidnapped Adelabu’s younger sister alongside her twin children, identified as Peter and Paul. The incident has triggered widespread concern across the state as a video from the scene showed a damaged red sedan with shattered driver’s-side glass.

Residents gathered around the vehicle as they tried to understand what had happened. Witnesses in the video identified the victim as Adelabu’s younger sister.

Several residents expressed shock and called for urgent intervention from security agencies. Oyo State Police spokesperson Olayinka Ayanlade said authorities had not independently verified the incident at the time of reporting.

Police officials continue to assess available information.

The abduction adds to a series of kidnapping incidents in Oyo State and recent attacks involving students, teachers and political figures have intensified calls for stronger security measures.

Authorities and family members hope for the safe return of the victims.
