Hajiya Asia El-Rufai, the second wife of former Kaduna State Governor Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, has alleged that she and Aishatou El-Rufai, the former governor’s last wife, are being monitored and placed under surveillance.
In a post shared on her Facebook page, Asia claimed that their phones had been compromised and expressed concerns over their safety.
She alleged that their lives were at risk and warned that the authorities should be held responsible if any harm comes to them.
“We are being followed and placed under surveillance. Our phones have been bugged,” she stated in the post.
Asia did not provide details of those she accused of carrying out the alleged surveillance, but called on relevant authorities to take responsibility for their protection.
The allegation comes amid heightened political discussions surrounding the former Kaduna governor and issues involving his administration.
As of the time of filing this report, there has been no official response from the Kaduna State Government or security agencies regarding the claims.
