The Federal High Court sitting in Gombe has dismissed a suit filed by Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant, Alhaji Abdulkadir Hamma Saleh, challenging the process that produced Professor Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami as the party’s governorship candidate in Gombe State.
The ruling was delivered on Thursday, September 24, 2026, by Justice Amina Aliyu Mohammed.
Hamma Saleh had approached the court to challenge the process through which Pantami emerged as the PDP’s candidate for the 2027 Gombe State governorship election.
However, the court dismissed the suit, effectively leaving Pantami as the PDP’s governorship candidate for the election.
The development comes amid ongoing political activities and legal challenges surrounding the emergence of candidates ahead of the 2027 Gombe governorship election.
Reacting to the judgment, supporters of Pantami expressed appreciation to their legal team and party members for their patience and confidence in the judicial process.
“With the dismissal, Professor Isa Ali Pantami remains the PDP’s governorship candidate for the 2027 election in Gombe State,” the statement said.
The camp also thanked its legal team and party members for their support throughout the legal proceedings.
The judgment is expected to provide further clarity on the PDP’s preparations for the 2027 governorship election in Gombe State, with Pantami retaining the party’s candidacy following the court’s decision.
