Chelsea Legend Tambling Passes Away at 84

Chelsea Football Club has announced the death of Bobby Tambling who died at the age of 84 after a long illnesshe club described him as one of its greatest ever players. Tributes poured in from across football.

Tambling scored 202 goals in 370 games for Chelsea holding the club’s scoring record for 47 years. His record stood until 2013. Frank Lampard later surpassed his total.

Tambling joined Chelsea as a teenager in 1957, he made his senior debut in 1959 and he helped Chelsea win the League Cup in 1965. He also played in the FA Cup final in 1967 and played for England earning three international caps during his career.

After Chelsea, he played for Crystal Palace. He later moved to clubs in Ireland, including Cork Celtic.

He lived in Ireland after retiring and later worked in football management and community roles.

Former teammates and clubs praised his skill and character. Many called him a true Chelsea legend.
