The Founder and Chief Executive Officer of CATAI, Muazu Abubakar Sadiq, has donated a consignment of cholera prevention and treatment supplies to support ongoing efforts to curb the spread of the disease in Biu Local Government Area of Borno State.
Sadiq announced the donation in a post shared on his Facebook page, describing the gesture as a personal contribution to his hometown in response to the recent cholera outbreaks recorded in several local government areas.
According to him, the medical supplies were formally presented at the Emir’s Palace, where they were received by the Emir of Biu, His Royal Highness Mai Mustapha Umar Mustapha II, alongside the Executive Chairman of Biu Local Government Area, Hon. Sule Ali Yimi, executives of the Biu Forum, and officials from the Primary Healthcare Department.
The donated items include Ciprofloxacin, Ringers Lactate, Oral Rehydration Salts (ORS), Azithromycin, Doxycycline, intravenous fluids, gloves, hand sanitizers, Aquatabs, face masks, and other essential materials required for cholera prevention and treatment.
Sadiq said the intervention was driven by his commitment to humanitarian service and his belief that supporting communities in times of need is a responsibility.
“We have witnessed cholera outbreaks in several LGAs. This is why I am stepping in to provide these essential supplies to help prevent further spread and save lives,” he said.

He also appealed to other sons and daughters of Biu to complement government efforts by supporting health interventions aimed at protecting residents from the disease.
In addition, he urged members of the public to maintain proper hygiene, use safe drinking water, and keep their surroundings clean to reduce the risk of cholera transmission.
Sadiq expressed appreciation to the Emir of Biu and the Chairman of Biu Local Government Area for receiving the donation and acknowledging what he described as his modest contribution to the wellbeing of the community.
The donation comes amid heightened public health concerns over cholera outbreaks in parts of Nigeria, with health authorities continuing to emphasize the importance of early treatment, sanitation, and community support in preventing further infections.
