The coordinator of the event, Dr Umar Adam, spoke about the theme of this year’s forum.
He said “Arabic Poetry: A Bridge Between African Civilization” goes beyond being a title. According to him, the theme carries a message that the organisers strongly believe in.
Dr Umar Adam said, “It is therefore more than a title. It is a message we believe in. That words can bring people closer, and that poetry can connect the past with the present, and cultures with one another.”
The fifth edition of Arabic Poetry in Nigeria provides an opportunity for participants from different parts of Africa to share ideas.
