ADC Aspirant Aminu Mayor Shares Life Challenges

A House of Assembly candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Borno State, popularly known as Aminu Tijjani Muhammad Mayor, has touched many Nigerians after sharing the story of his life and the challenges he has overcome while living with a disability.

In a video circulating online, Mayor spoke about his childhood experiences, the difficulties he faced growing up, and how he learned to navigate life despite physical limitations.

The video also showed him carrying out everyday activities independently, including writing, using a mobile phone, cooking and handling household chores, as he encouraged people not to see disability as inability.

Mayor praised his parents for the love, care and support they gave him throughout his life, saying their encouragement helped shape his confidence and determination.

He particularly reflected on the role of his late mother, describing her as a pillar of strength in his journey. Speaking emotionally about her recent death, Mayor expressed deep pain over the loss and prayed for Allah’s mercy upon her soul.

The video has drawn emotional reactions on social media, with many Nigerians commending his resilience, courage and positive outlook on life.

Supporters say his story serves as a reminder that people living with disabilities deserve understanding, inclusion and equal opportunities in society rather than discrimination or judgment.

Many viewers also described the video as inspirational, urging Nigerians to listen to the experiences of people with disabilities before forming opinions about them.
