Netherlands Reaffirms Support to NAPTIP

A high-level delegation from the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Nigeria has paid a courtesy visit to the Director-General of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), Binta Adamu Bello, OON.

The delegation was led by the Sahel Envoy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Mr. Robert Zimmerman, and included the Dutch Ambassador to Nigeria, His Excellency Bengt van Loosdrecht, as well as the First Secretary (Migration), Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Mr. Sib Siebesima.

During the visit, the Dutch officials commended NAPTIP for its commitment and measurable progress in combating trafficking in persons across Nigeria.

They reaffirmed the Kingdom’s readiness to strengthen support for Nigeria through existing and future counter-trafficking initiatives.

In her remarks, the Director-General of NAPTIP expressed appreciation to the Government of the Kingdom of the Netherlands for its sustained support to the Agency, noting that several Dutch-funded projects have made significant impact in Nigeria’s anti-trafficking efforts.

She assured the delegation of NAPTIP’s continued collaboration and enhanced cooperation in tackling human trafficking.

The engagement took place within the framework of the strong bilateral partnership between Nigeria and the Netherlands, aimed at advancing coordinated and effective responses to human trafficking and related transnational crimes.
