Over 40 ambassador-designates have started an induction programme in Abuja. The Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs is coordinating the exercise ahead of their deployment.
The programme will prepare the envoys for diplomatic duties. It will focus on Nigeria’s foreign policy and global engagement.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu urged them to represent Nigeria well abroad. He asked them to promote a positive image and drive economic diplomacy.
He also told them to attract investment, boost trade, and protect Nigerians in their host countries.
Officials said the training will cover trade talks, security cooperation, and consular services. It aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda.
The programme will end on Friday. The envoys will then move to their respective postings.
