In a statement issued on Thursday by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the Presidency described the report as false and a deliberate act of misinformation designed to cause confusion within government circles.
According to the statement, Gbajabiamila remains the Chief of Staff, while Muri-Okunola continues to serve in his existing capacity as Principal Private Secretary. The Presidency stressed that no change has been made to either role.
“There is absolutely no truth to this story. The Chief of Staff remains in his position. The Principal Private Secretary likewise remains in his role,” the statement read.
The Presidency urged the public and media organisations to verify information before circulation, warning against the dangers of sharing unconfirmed reports on social media.
The statement described the viral claim as a fabrication promoted by individuals intent on spreading fake news and creating disharmony within the administration.
The Presidency encouraged Nigerians to disregard the report in its entirety.
