The semi-final line-up for this season’s Carabao Cup has been confirmed following Arsenal’s penalty shoot-out victory over Crystal Palace on Tuesday night.
The Gunners, who dominated much of the quarter-final tie, took the lead through a Maxence Lacroix own goal in the second half. Palace, however, forced extra drama when Marc Guehi struck an equaliser in added time, sending the match to penalties.
Goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga proved decisive in the shoot-out, saving Lacroix’s effort to seal Arsenal’s place in the last four.
Arsenal will now face Chelsea in an all-London semi-final, while the other tie will see Manchester City take on Newcastle United as the competition heads into its decisive stage.
