The Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, PhD, has decorated 29 newly promoted officers of the Command, charging them to uphold integrity, discipline, and selfless service in the discharge of their duties.
The decoration ceremony, held at the Police Officers’ Mess, Bompai, Kano, was attended by senior officers, invited guests, and members of the press.
Among the promoted officers are ACP Gambo Chagwa Elijah, Officer in Charge of Veterinary; ACP Nasiru Yusuf, Officer in Charge of Medical; CSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the Command’s Public Relations Officer; and several Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) from across the state.
The promotion list includes 2 officers elevated from CSP to ACP, 21 officers from SP to CSP, and 6 officers from DSP to SP.

In his remarks, CP Bakori congratulated the officers and commended the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD, NPM, for his commitment to the welfare and career advancement of police personnel. He also appreciated the Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Zone 1 Kano, for his continuous support to the Command.
The Commissioner urged the newly promoted officers to lead by example and uphold the core values of professionalism and accountability expected of their new ranks.
“With higher ranks come greater responsibilities. I charge you all to demonstrate exemplary leadership and remain steadfast in service to the nation,” he stated.
The Kano State Police Command congratulated all the newly promoted officers and reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining peace, law, and order across the state.
