Nigerian music superstar Davido has once again made headlines, this time for gifting his wife, Chioma, a brand new 2025 Mercedes Benz G Wagon. The luxury SUV, which recently hit the market, carries a price tag north of US$150,000 (roughly ₦240 million, depending on specifications).
In an Instagram Story shared on Wednesday, Davido was all smiles as he showed off the moment he traded in his previous vehicle and made up the difference to secure the latest model. “Only the best for my lady,” he said excitedly, as he handed the keys to Chioma. Chioma’s reaction was visible, she was clearly touched and Davido punctuated the moment with pride, declaring, “We do 2025!”
Their relationship has been in the spotlight in recent months, especially following their grand white wedding in Miami on August 10, 2025. That event was the third in their series of nuptial celebrations, following a court wedding in March 2023 and a traditional ceremony in Lagos in June 2024. The Miami celebration alone reportedly cost about US$3.7 million, drawing business leaders, political figures, and entertainment heavyweights from across Nigeria and beyond.
The new G Wagon is more than just a flashy gift, it’s a symbol of the couple’s lifestyle and Davido’s penchant for going big when showing appreciation. It also shows the culture of gifting among celebrity couples in Nigeria, where luxury items are often status symbols and expressions of affection.
