Today, September 1, Zendaya turns 30,marking three decades since the Oakland, California-born performer entered the world and a remarkable journey from child dancer and Disney Channel star to one of the most influential young actors of her generation.
Few careers have evolved quite like Zendaya’s.
She began in dance and modelling, found early fame on Disney Channel, moved into music, and eventually transformed herself into a major Hollywood leading actress. Along the way, she has collected two Primetime Emmy Awards, a Golden Globe, major fashion accolades and roles in some of the biggest film franchises of the modern era.
But perhaps the most striking part of her story is how deliberately she has shaped her career.
