Kano-based political commentator and gladiator, Alhaji Abdulmajid Dan Bilki Dan Bilki Commander has expressed confidence that former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Professor Isa Ali Pantami, will emerge victorious in the 2027 Gombe State governorship election.
Dan Balki made the declaration in a recent interview with newsmen, saying Pantami’s emergence as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate had given the party a new political dimension ahead of the election.
According to him, Pantami possesses the qualities required of a good leader and has the capacity to provide effective leadership for the people of Gombe State.
“Prof. Pantami zai yi nasara da ikon Allah kuma kowanne ɓangare na siyasar jihar Gombe za a musu adalci,” Dan Balki said, expressing his belief that Pantami would win the election and ensure fairness across different sections of the state.

He also predicted that Pantami would defeat the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Dr Jamilu Isyaku Gwamna, in the 2027 contest.
Pantami is currently the PDP governorship candidate in Gombe after emerging as the party’s candidate in May 2026. He is expected to face Gwamna, who emerged as the APC candidate after the party’s governorship primary.
Dan Balki argued that Pantami’s entry into the PDP had changed the political calculations in the state, describing the former minister as a politician with the qualities and experience necessary to lead Gombe.
His comments come amid increasing political activities ahead of the 2027 governorship election, with both major parties working to consolidate support across the state’s three senatorial districts.
The contest between Pantami and Gwamna is already attracting significant political attention, with supporters of both candidates expressing confidence in their chances of winning the election.
Gwamna’s camp has, however, maintained that electoral victory will ultimately depend on voters at polling units rather than popularity on social media. His supporters have urged politicians to focus on grassroots mobilisation ahead of the election.
Dan Balki’s latest remarks therefore add to the growing political debate over who will control the Gombe State Government House after the 2027 election.
With the election still ahead, both Pantami and Gwamna face the task of translating their political support into a broad electoral coalition across Gombe State.
