Nigeria international Terem Moffi has completed a permanent move to Bundesliga side Hamburger SV from French club OGC Nice, bringing a new chapter to the striker’s career in Germany.
The 27-year-old has signed for Hamburg after completing his medical and will wear the club’s iconic No. 9 shirt. The Bundesliga club confirmed the signing on Monday, describing Moffi as a striker whose physicality, determination and ability to attack space will add more options to their forward line.
Moffi joins Hamburg after more than three years at Nice, where he scored 24 goals in 72 appearances. He spent the second half of last season on loan at Portuguese champions FC Porto, making 15 competitive appearances and scoring twice.
The move represents an opportunity for Moffi to revive his club career after a difficult period in France and Portugal. His recent performances for Nigeria also helped put him back in the spotlight, including goals against Jamaica and Poland during the summer international window.
Hamburg, meanwhile, will hope the Nigerian can provide goals as they prepare for their return to Germany’s top flight.
Moffi now has the chance to make his mark in the Bundesliga, with the No. 9 shirt signalling the important role expected of him in Hamburg’s attack.
