A Nigerian student, Gwani Abdurraheem Almuft Yelwa, has emerged winner of an international Qur’an recitation competition organised by his university in Saudi Arabia.
Abdurraheem, son of renowned Islamic scholar from Bauchi State, Professor Mansur Isa Yelwa, secured the first position in the prestigious competition after an impressive performance in the recitation of the Holy Qur’an.
The remarkable achievement has brought pride to his family, teachers, community, and Nigeria, with many celebrating his dedication, discipline, and commitment to Islamic scholarship.
Abdurraheem’s victory highlights years of hard work and devotion to Qur’anic studies, as he continues to represent Nigeria positively on the international stage.

“Alhamdulillah, all praise belongs to Allah who granted me the opportunity to achieve this great position. This success is from Allah alone, and I appreciate my teachers who taught and guided me,” he said.
